The feedback from the event was very positive, and the [...]]]> Two of the STEMgirls advisors, Kelly Tatham (left) and Laura Downes, ran workshops on chromatography during the ‘Girls into Engineering’ event at the University of Northampton on 14 July 2010. They demonstrated high-pressure liquid chromatography and explained the principles to groups of around 12 school girls.

The feedback from the event was very positive, and the girls also learned about a wide range of engineering jobs currently fulfilled by women. A very enjoyable and worthwhile day.

I am currently working as a research technician in the energy industry and I’m looking to move into engineering. Unfortunately all I can find is routes in through BTECs HND’s and so forth, but because I’m older than 19 I am not eligible for these qualifications. Is there any other way?
