They demonstrated high-pressure liquid chromatography and explained the principles to groups of around 12 school girls.

The feedback from the event was very positive, and the girls also learned about a wide range of engineering jobs currently fulfilled by women. A very enjoyable and worthwhile day.

Thanks to Laura and Kelly for their time and effort!

I’m interested in aeronautics. However I don’t know how much work experience I will need to become a good engineer. I am in year 10 at Loughborough High and I have been informed about a engineering work experience weeks with the RAF in Birmingham for girls in year 10. However I have a public examination in these week so I cannot go. I’m worried that I may have very slim chances of getting any work experience at all. Please may I have some advice on how I should go forward? Thank you.

Hello, I am currently undertaking a P/T BSc.(Hons) Life Sciences with the Open University, and am doing well at Level 2. I have a BSc. Psych (2001)from Stirling University. I am 30 yrs old and live in Glasgow City Centre. I have no related work experience, but would love to pursue a career as a researcher. I am particularly interested in Biological Psychology. I’d like some advice on related careers, and where I should begin to gain experience. I am happy to volunteer, ideally in a university, yet I am unsure who to approach, and in what capacity I would realistically be considered.
